"Roger
Searle Payne (born January 29, 1935 in New York, New York, United States)
is a biologist and environmentalist famous
for the 1967 discovery (with Scott McVay) of Whale song among Humpback
whales. Payne later became an important
figure in the worldwide campaign to end commercial
whaling."
"Payne
studied at HarvardUniversity and Cornell.
He spent the early years of his career studying echolocation in bats (and how their food, moths,
avoids them) and auditory
localization in owls. Desiring to work with something more directly
linked to conservation he later focused his
research on whales where he together with researcher Scott McVay in 1967 were the first to discover the complex sonic
arrangements performed by the male humpback
whales during the breeding season." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Payne
January
29, 1935 was the day of 10/ Toj....Vulture Decan....Week of Ajpu....Uinal of Reaction
10 is Manifestation.
Toj is the day of ceremony. The body
parts of this day are Ears..Hearing.
Vulturedecan is
the first and strongest decan of
Aquarius. This is an Air sign closely associated
with water. Air is the element of communication.
Ajpuis the day of the "Lords of Time,
Lords of the Sun". "Conception
of a new being".Payne
was the first to realize that the whales communicated
in ceremony together in the water. He then
manifested his findings by recording
it so people of the world could hear it. Bing,
bam, boom.
"Payne
describes the whale songs as "exuberant,
uninterrupted rivers of sound" with long
repeated "themes", each song lasting
up to 30 minutes and sung by an entire group
of male humpbacks at once. The songs would
be varied slightly between each breeding season,
with a few new phrases added on and a few others
dropped."
"Payne
would also be the first to suggest Fin
Whales and Blue Whales can communicate with sound across whole
oceans."
"sung by an entire group of male humpback whales at once".....sounds
a bit like ceremony eh ?
If
one examines the method of ceremony and discovered
that songs were repeated with slight changes...this
would prove intelligent,
artistic, ceremony on
the part of the species. Repetition is non-artistic. Ceremony
should be artistic, a free flowing creative
process with a built in process to allow the
children to add their own artistic expression.
The whales know this. All animals know this.
"All
around the world, blue whales aren’t
singing like they used to, and scientists have
no idea why."
"The
largest animals on Earth are singing in ever-deeper
voices every year. Among the suggested explanations are ocean
noise pollution, changing population dynamics
and new mating strategies. But none of them
is entirely convincing."
